Great FREE Trip for the Family!

This past weekend we visited my parents in Atlanta. My parents wanted to have a little birthday celebration for Sophie since they (nor my cousin) got to attend Sophie's party at our house. My step-mom planned to have  a picnic at a place called Noah's Ark in Locust Grove, Georgia.

Noah's Ark is a rehabilitation center for animal's as well as a group home for up to 24 children. I can only speak for the animal side. It was fantastic and it was FREE! That's right! They work from donations. They have a lot of different animals. Below are my pros and cons:

Pros:
-There are animals freely roaming in some areas and you can get pretty close to them if you want.
-There is a pretty big variety of animals. Anything from tigers to deer can be seen. They also have little Shetland ponies.
- There is a huge playground for the kids to play on at the end of the day.
- It isn't so big that you can't do it in a couple of hours.

Cons:
- The animals in the enclosures can be a good distance away and it may be hard to see them.
-It is big enough that a three year old can get tuckered pretty quick. May want to bring a stroller (which I didn't!).
-Because some of the animals just roam around, there is a lot of animal droppings and you have to watch and make sure you or your child aren't heading straight for a big pile!

I highly recommend going if you are in the area. The week days are not as busy. My step-mom said that this weekend was the busiest that she had seen it. The picnic tables fill up pretty quick so get their early if you want to have a picnic. Below are a few pictures from our day!

A free roaming donkey!

Just an idea of how the enclosures are set up!

This peacock was just roaming around the picnic area! The girls loved it!

Poppy and his girls!

This is what happens with a three year old...a backache and messy hair! Ha ha!!!

It was a good day!

Let's Go Shopping: Grocery List

Here is the grocery list for this weekend! I separated out the spices because I have a lot of spices as I am sure most of you do. I wanted to put them where you could check them off if you need to. I also tried to include the not so typical things that you would not have at your house. Have fun shopping!
